Space Invader Coffee Table Geeks Up Your Caffeine Consumption

This DIY coffee table takes its inspiration from a global graffiti trend in as much as it does from the game. The table makes use of handmade Mexican Talavera tiles to give the pixellated space invaders a less-precise, handmade touch.

According to Sean Ragan, who created the table:

These (handmade Mexican Talavera) tiles, like most handmade artifacts, are imprecise and show significant natural lumpiness and variation. The depiction of the precise, orderly, pixellated image of the space invader sprite would be boring if executed in precisely manufactured injection-molded bathroom tiles from the big orange store. The slightly uneven tile heights and lightly meandering grout lines lend a warmth to the image which would otherwise be lacking.

Fetch My Keys, The Electronic Key Finder

fetch my keys

From the makers of many previous products featured on this site, Sun Jar, Faux Digital Message Tape and the Graffiti Train (which has some priceless comments), Suck UK introduces Fetch My Keys. With this little gadget, every time your keys are MIA, just whistle and the doggie key chain will bark back. Of course this is all fine and dandy as long as you’re in audible range of your best friend. If you lost your keys during a long hike, all the whistling in the world is not going to help you but crying might.

Back to Grade School with the Graffiti Sofa

 Teruhiro Yanagihara's Graffiti Sofa

Designer Teruhiro Yanagihara has come up with this rather plush looking graffiti sofa. It looks comfortable, an oversized three-seat with low, soft arms for extended lounging. Scratches show up really easily on the graffiti sofa, it is made of cotton with a wax coating. This allows your friends to leave their mark on your uber-expensive artsy furniture. You will feel like you are in grade school again when Dan from accounting writes, “Dan was here” all over your pricey purchase with his grubby little fingers. You won’t be bothered though, because that is the whole idea behind this design concept and the marks come right off if you iron it.

Very cool, but no word on the price, that generally means that  if you have to ask you can’t afford it.
