BFG Tech have made some mighty fine components in the past, but it looks like they are stepping up their game and getting into the high-end PC business. Details are sketchy, but it looks like components will be controllable via a touchscreen on the front of the case. The two quotes regarding the system on the Giz stick out impressively “a high-performance gaming/home theater system” and “maintenance-free liquid cooling.” I like the sound of that.
No word on pricing, but I would expect it to be in Alienware ALX realm. It looks as though they are taking very careful aim at Alienware and Voodoo with this thing. It is sure to be a highlight of CES. [Hardforum via Crunchgear, Gizmodo]

Drinking and driving definitely don’t mix, but drinking and simulated driving, now that is totally different. Dream Arcades have put together something a little bit special with the Octane 120, it features not one but two taps, one of which is located right next to the steering wheel. (more…)

I disagree with this theory, and am thinking more along the lines of the Gigaom projection, for the simple reason that there is already a Mac Mini – there is no place for a lighter Mac desktop; and any performance boost that they could give the Mac Mini wouldn’t really constitute a new product. I think Apple’s new product will be an affordable, mid-spec home theater PC (HTPC) for masses, that will replace the lackluster Apple TV.

Projection screens are a little boring, that is unless they are concealed in furniture and extend up automatically. The Elite Raptor lineup does exactly that. They are abailable in 72, 84 and 100-inch sizes, though if you are going to make the jump to a projector, you might as well do it properly. The height settings are adjustable and the cabinet comes in cherry or black.
Price: Available from September for approximately $4,000 [Elite via Born Rich, CePro]

Kevin Van decided that he wanted to build himself an outdoor theater (he had already built one in his bedroom and another in his basement), however, he went a little further than the inflatable Walmart screen and he built much of it himself. He also added a sweet nostalgic twist to the whole project, of which many are certain to approve. He restored some vintage drive-in speakers and added concession stands to his theater space.
