Oxygen Tank Lamp Puts Medical Equipment to Household Use

The oxygen tank lamp is, unfortunately, not powered by oxygen. It runs on electricity, but that does not stop it from looking really, really cool. If you are going for an industrial / mad scientist look for your home, putting together something like this would be a pretty good start. It is a real oxygen bottle, with real gauges but does not actually hold oxygen (for obvious reasons).

Football Stadium Desktop Floodlights Light Up Your Desk, Make Al Gore Cry

The Floodlamp Desk Lamp is a cool piece of lighting equipment whether you love sports or not, but more so if you do. It stands 51 cm high and features a shiny chrome finish and the six lamps can be adjusted to point up or down. Other than that, it is just a lamp. The thing that got me though is the energy that this thing must burn through. It takes six E14 25W Bulbs, which seems more than a little wasteful for a desklamp. One can’t help but think that it should have been built taller, after all, that level of lighting would seem a little more appropriate in a floor lamp.

iPhone App Lets You Control Your Home Lighting

A new system from Lutron, the company that developed the dimmer switch is now offering an iPhone- iPod Touch-controlled home lighting system. All you do is screw your lamp into a Lutron wireless module and the software does the rest. Sounds simple, but be prepared to be slugged a pretty penny or two for the wireless modules. Much like many of the other computer-driven lighting systems, the Lutron system allows you to divide your house into control zones.

Price: Lutron iPhone App – FREE; Wireless Controller – Price Unavailable, but you are probably going to need to fork over a few hundred dollars to fit out an average house.
