In a giant leap for both simian and humankind, monkeys at the University of Pittsburgh, have been taught to manipulate robotic limbs. The control comes by way of an implant that is the width of a human hair. Using the robotic arm, monkeys are able to reach for, pick up and feed themselves marshmallows and pieces of fruit.
Our immediate goal is to make a prosthetic device for people with total paralysis. Ultimately, our goal is to better understand brain complexity. – Andrew Schwartz (research leader), professor of neurobiology at the University of Pittsburgh

For people that lead active lifestyles, the Power Monkey Charger could be a life changing little box of energized goodness. These things are batteries on steroids. You plug them in, charge them up and they will hold their juice for up to a year. The two models that you can choose from, either the mains powered Classic or the ruggedized solar powered Explorer.
I don’t need a Power Monkey Charger, I have a desk job. Sitting on my desk is a universal cell phone charger that is never unplugged. I get to work, plug my phone in and go home with a full charge. The only time I deviate from this plan is when I have to find my cell phone charger at home. I don’t know where that thing has got to. I don’t get outdoors much, so the Explorer would not be much good to me, which is a shame because I like the rugged look much better than the cheap looking Classic. The LCD screen really caps it off, it is a nice external power source.
PowerMonkey Chargers are available from Firebox or Amazon at a cost of $59 for the Classic and $128 for the Explorer.

I would wear these circular watch cuff links. They look absolutely stunning, solidly constructed from Sterling silver and “vintage watch parts.” They look almost steampunk, though I have to say that they would be perfect with a nice suit. I love cuff links and seeing great pieces like these only reminds me that I need to make a trip to Hong Kong some time soon for some budget bespoke corporate monkey suits.
You can buy these Circular Watch Cufflinks for a total of $235 for the pair. They are, perhaps, slightly overpriced (but cuff links get a whole lot more expensive).

There are exactly fifty billion different audio formats out there and one that causes a lot of confusion for Nero is APE. APE is a lossless format, which prior to FLAC was very popular. The trouble that some people find when they are backing up their CDs is that they run into errors. Perhaps the most common error is a filename mismatch.
The first thing that you need is the relevant NERO plug-in. Once you have downloaded it, you will need to unpack the DLL into C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\AudioPlugins
Your backup should have two files, an APE file and a CUE file. The single APE file contains all of the tracks on the CD. The CUE contains relevant track lengths. The trouble that a lot of people run into is that they find the CUE references a WAV not the APE file that is in their directory. There is a fix and it is very simple. Open the CUE in your favorite text editor and make a single change.
Change the following line, which is right near top of the text file in line 3.
FILE “ABC123.wav” WAV
TO
FILE “ABC123.ape” MP3
The MP3 is not a mistake. For whatever reason, NERO does not recognize the APE in Line 3. Setting it as MP3 is the only thing that works. Once you have done that go into Nero, select “Burn Image,” choose the CUE file that you just edited and hit “Burn.”
