If you are considering picking up a PS3 for the holiday season consider this: there might not be any left. The talking heads at Sony have boasted that sales have trebled since the introduction of the PS3 Slim and the price cut.
If the trend continues, stocks could possibly dwindle just like they did with the X-360 last year; not nice if your holiday plan hinges on spending quality time with your new console. [Electronista via Slippery Brick]

This R2-D2 packs in eight different consoles and a projector, to create a one-of-a-kind, all-in-one monstrosity of the very best kind.
Featured consoles: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Genesis, Dreamcast, Playstation, Xbox and a PS2.
Conspicuous by their absences are the PS3, X-360 and Wii, but given the case, it seems appropriate to keep things old-school. [TheForce via DVICE]

While the dangerous look that comes from the digital camo paint-job and the weapon-esque styling won’t help you rack up more kills, the extra button on the back that means you can reload without your thumbs ever leaving the sticks will.
The X-360 version isn’t wireless, which is a bit of a drag (more so considering that the PS3 version is), but some sacrifices are worth making.
