Lego Sniper Rifle Shoots 1×4 Brick Through Carton

The F107 Sniper Rifle is without a doubt the coolest Lego project I have seen in a very long time. If you need some inspiration to build your own, watch it lay waste to the carton.

Seriously, the thing looks almost dangerous enough to require registration.

Review: Saints Row II – Sure it is a GTA Ripoff, But It’s Fun

Over the past week and a half, I have spent more than my fair share of time playing THQ’s Saints Row II. Let me tell you, at first I was resistant to this blatant GTA ripoff, however, I gve it its day in court and I am glad that I did. It was a fun game. The story is a little bit cartoonish, in that it is perhaps overly simplistic, but the missions are enjoyable and the makers have managed to create a decently difficult game without getting carried away and making it too tough. Amazon Packing a Replica Gears of War Lancer With Special Edition GOW2 Pack

If you want your own gore splattered Gears of War Lancer, word on the street is that they are available at Amazon. The life-size replica makes sounds of war, vibrates and comes splattered with some realistic looking gore. So realistic-looking in fact that it would probably be best advised that you don’t go carrying the thing on the street lest you find yourself the victim of some overzealous law enforcement.

At $140 on its own, the Lancer ain’t exactly cheap, but damn it looks good. [Amazon via Like Cool, Gearfuse]

Kalashnikov Equipped Burglar Alarm

Kalashnikov Alarm

This little treasure of a DIY project comes to us all the way from Afghanistan. Hanif Molavizadeh rigged up the system to protect his home from intruders. When the alarm sounds, the system rings Molavizadeh’s cell phone, from where he can speak to the intruders by speaker phone. If that does not frighten them away, then a quick blast of the Kalashnikov is likely to send them on their way. The system will remote fire his assault rifle.

As one might expect, the development of such a system was not without its trials. Just last month he forgot to unload his gun during testing; when it accidentally fired, breaking one of his windows and ricocheted off a neighbor’s wall. That neighbor was unimpressed, but another neighbor promptly ordered his own alarm to be constructed; sans Kalashnikov.

The Swiss Mini-Gun, Great Miniature, Lackluster Firearm

Swiss Mini Gun
The Swiss Mini-Gun is a working miniature gun. Not that it has much in the way of stopping power. The 2.34mm rimfire ammunition puts out a measly 0.97 joule of energy. That is significantly less than most BB guns or air rifles. But a tiny gun that actually shoots real tiny bullets is interesting, don’t you think? If nothing else this can be appreciated for the level of craftsmanship and precision that the Swiss usually reserve for their watches. It is interesting to look at, but I fail to see why anyone would want to own one.

There are two models offered by the company, a stainless steel version and a solid gold version. The stainless steel version will ship with a leather holster, 24 live and 24 blank cartridges and a cleaning set. The solid gold version can be customized according to your wishes. You can bling it up with diamonds or whatever you want. Like the stainless steel version, it ships with 24 live and 24 blank cartridges, but it also has a rocket launcher tube and 36 luminous rockets. It is all packed into a green tinted maple presentation box.
