LapDawg Laptop Stand

The following is a paid product review; however, the opinions expressed are my own.

LapDawg

When I first saw the LapDawg laptop stand, I immediately began to think how such a device would benefit me. At first I thought, I don’t use my laptop much unless I’m at my desk or at a table somewhere — but then it struck me that maybe I’d use it elsewhere more often if it were more convenient to do so. The LapDawg allows any laptop user to set their laptop up in a comfortable and ergonomic position no matter where they happen to be: in bed, outdoors, in an armchair, or even just sitting on the livingroom carpet.

Sure, a laptop stand is nothing new, and there are plenty of options to choose from. What makes the LapDawg different? The first thing that caught my eye is that it’s made of a good, solid (but lightweight) wood with an attractive mahogany finish, making it look classy — moreso than any cheap plastic stand. Second, the LapDawg can be easily repositioned and adjusted to put your laptop in exactly the position you desire, enhancing your comfort and productivity. And furthermore, the LapDawg collapses easily and compactly for storage or carrying.

It’s not perfect, mind you: the one thing that I would find bothersome is that there’s no room for using a mouse, and I can’t stand using the little touchpads or rubber nubs to move the mouse around on a laptop. However, with a good optical mouse, just about any surface will work for mousing, so this isn’t a major problem.

While the price is a little on the steep side — $79.99 plus $20 s&h — the product is a high-quality, sleek-looking accessory that can enhance your laptop’s portability and maybe get you to move around and experience the world a little more.
