Trek Aerospace Exoskeleton May Just Be The Most Badass Form Of Personal Transportation Ever Conceived
![]()
If you want to get from A to B quickly, the fastest way tends to be in a straight line. Traveling by car that is almost always impossible, and while helicopter works, they need space to land, which means that they are not always practical. Trek Aeorospace’s exoskeleton makes a nice alternative. Sure, they might plan to use it for boring tasks such as crop dusting, but all I can see is myself driving over rush hour traffic at 100 mph and getting to work in five minutes instead of forty. Star Trek Enterprise M.A.C.O. Phaser Rifle Under the Hammer

A little over twenty-four hours remain on the auction for one of the hottest pieces of geek memorabilia that has been seen for a long while. The phaser rifle featured in a number of episodes and was handled by at least two actors. That makes it a veteran prop in my book. Enough of the details, onto the weapon; it is designed to look used and the paint job does a good job of that, but there appears to be a little extra wear and tear. The seller also makes the disclaimer that time and use have left it slightly tacky to the touch.
A little tackiness, that”s okay, it is made out of resin and it is from Star Trek. The phaser rifle is painted and anyone skilled with a brush should be able to work a little magic on it, if they want it looking prime for their collection. This is an awesome prop and deserves to be owned by a real Star Trek fan, not someone who is just planning to resell it.
Price: $1,800 with over a day to go.

Road Speed Demon: Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL Campagnolo 2008
Last week we featured a Giant Anthem Advanced mountain bike that packed in some great components at a fairly reasonable price. This week we are going to take a look at a road bike that costs a small fortune. I mean seriously, you could get a used car for the amount that you pay for one of these, but you will not have to pay gas bills and you will get to go extremely fast. Allow me to introduce the Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL Campagnolo 2008.
The bike is constructed from Specialized FACT carbon, and it is light. It weighs in at less than 900 grams. Combine that with some of the best road bike components that money can buy and you have a speed machine that will rocket you past traffic jams in rush hour. Brakes, levers, cassette, derailleurs, and chain are all from the Campagnolo Record line. Front and rear hubs are Roval Starship. Roval also provides carbon brake pads. The rest of the components, frame and fork are S-Works and produced in house.
With bikes, there are a number of factors that affect potential speed. Geometry, weight, component efficiency and rider strength will all factor in to how fast you can go. Specialized seems to have nailed all of the non-rider elements with the S-Works Tarmac, the rest is up to you. This bike includes pedals.
Price: $7,200
