The CPR Teddy

CPR TeddyThe CPR Teddy sounds like a good idea, but the idea of a cute, cuddly teddy bear as a constant reminder of the grim specter of death is a little on the creepy side.

CPR Teddy is a very special kind of teddy bear. Although he looks like a typical huggable, cuddly teddy bear, he has a very important job. Squeeze one of Teddy’s paws and voice prompts walk you through the correct procedures for Choking Rescue and Infant or Child CPR. You practice chest compressions by pressing on the bright red heart on Teddy’s chest as a metronome paces you. Teddy’s bowtie lights up green or red to tell you if you are doing the compressions correctly and his chest rises as you perform the rescue breathing.

The CPR Teddy is intended as to be way to practice CPR skills at home or as a test unit for babysitters and other child care providers. Plus it is a fun little wake up call for your kids that reminds them of the harsh realities of life.

Price: $79.95 – $129.95

iPulse Bear Speaker System and Light Show for iPod

iPulse Bear Speaker System and Light Show for iPod and MP3

If there ever was a list of top 10 iPod gadgets, this speaker system would certainly be on the top spots. I’m not too fond about the sound quality, but the teddy bear itself and the flash lights sure look attractive.

Just like a panda carries its baby-panda on the belly, so does the iPulse Bear hold your iPod on his belly. It is a nice way of making the iPod look kind of secure from bumpings and falls, unlike what happens with other speakers.

Inside the bear there are built-in speakers that connect to the player via a hidden headphone jack that is located on the belly, to go along with the sound there are different (green, blue and red) LED lights on the bears paws, each color will flash accordingly to the music’s rhythm, frequency and volume.

To turn the iPulse on just squeeze his paw and listen to your favorite songs while looking at a… bear. There are 2 different versions, one is white bear and has blue eyes while the other is brown and comes with green eyes – which one is your favorite? I must say that the brown bear looks scary.

Price: $14

PS – besides working with iPods, it also supports any other kind of player that has a headphone jack.

Teddy Bear Gun

teddybeargun.jpgThis looks interesting. A Japanese company plans to start selling a gun-shaped party cracker that shoots out a teddy bear into the air. Don’t worry the teddy bear makes a safe landing back to earth thanks to a parachute. The idea came from an increased trend for people to throw teddy bears into the air instead of bouquets at wedding receptions. The crackers will go on sale in May.
