SMK-Link are claiming to have the first universal remote on the market that fully incorporates the Playstation 3.
According to the manufacturer:
Blu-Link supports more than 400 brands of standard and HDTV television and flatscreens, 150 VCR brands, 200 Satellite Receiver models, 100 Cable TV Receiver brands, 50 DVR models and 200 home theater surround sound systems
With a set of dedicated PS3-buttons (triangle, square, X, select, home and start), the Blu-Link could be a good way to better integrate the PS3 with the rest of one’s entertainment equipment.

If you haven’t done an awesome DIY project since you can remember then today is your lucky day, we have twelve ideas lined up here that given enough time and energy, pretty much anyone can put together. Don’t get me wrong, there are some tough projects here, but stepping out of your comfort zone is the best way to acquire new skills, and once you’ve got them (as long as you maintain them), they are with you for life.
To make life easier, we have included a difficulty scale: 1- a very simple project with almost no skill required, it is just a matter of screwing a few parts together; 2 – a simple project with some specialized knowledge or skills required; 3 – a moderately difficult project that may need several skills and/or basic soldering to complete; 4 – a difficult project that requires a range of skills and may demand some intricate soldering; 5 – an extremely difficult project that requires detailed knowledge and a range of skills.
Note: even the most difficult projects that we have selected are buildable, but will likely require a good deal of research. These projects are difficult, not necessarily due to the building involved, but because there is likely to be a certain amount of improvisation necessary to get the job done. For this reason, people are going to have to know or be prepared to learn the why not just the how of the design process. As long as it doesn’t involve doing anything particularly dangerous, we thoroughly recommend biting off more than you can chew. It is the best way to learn!

There has been a bit of talk on potential new Apple “Brick”. More than one blogger suggesting that Apple might be planning a new low-cost desktop; something that would knock some of the stuffing out of the low-cost Hackintosh products that have been hitting the market. I disagree with this theory, and am thinking more along the lines of the Gigaom projection, for the simple reason that there is already a Mac Mini – there is no place for a lighter Mac desktop; and any performance boost that they could give the Mac Mini wouldn’t really constitute a new product. I think Apple’s new product will be an affordable, mid-spec home theater PC (HTPC) for masses, that will replace the lackluster Apple TV.

The Gorillapod Go-Go! is much like the standard Gorillapod, except that it comes with a range of attachments to mount your Gorillapod to your various electronics. With the kit you get a suction cup mount, a universal adapter screw and some 3M high-bond adhesive clips. Add all of that to a bendable tripod and you have something that may just be on the way to cheap mounting solution nirvana.

Sony’s new RHT-G500 is more than the typical TV stand with integrated sound. Aside from the built in left, right and center speakers, and the sub woofer, there are also three HDMI inputs and one HDMI output. It also allows music streaming over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. All in all, a very tight package, but unfortunately it will only handle TV sets that are up to 40″ in size.
